KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip II, 359-336 BC. Stater (Gold, 18 mm, 8.60 g, 11 h), Lampsakos, struck under Leonnatos, Arrhidaios, or Antigonos I Monophthalmos, circa 323-317. Laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠOY Charioteer driving biga to right, holding reins in his left hand and goad in his right; below horses, coiled serpent right and monogram. Le Rider pl. 90, 6. SNG ANS 285. Lustrous and fresh. Struck from somewhat corroded dies, otherwise, good extremely fine.
